Round table on Local Marine Protection

Tuesday 25th October - 11am-1pm - MSP Lecture Theatre, Lower Campus (USP) - free entrance.

All around the World, environment is facing a critical situation. In Oceania, and notably here in Fiji or in the neighboring French territory of New Caledonia, the fauna and flora are threatened.

Almost a year after the organization of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 21) in Paris, we built with our Fijian and French partners this photography and informative exhibition, Fiji and New Caledonia Underwater (launching on 20th October), to present endangered marine species and raise awareness on the need of their protection.

Two round tables are organized following the launching of this exhibition, in October and November, regarding local marine protection in Fiji and sharks protection.

This round table about local marine protection gives the floor to Fijian and International actors working in this field, and playing an active role to preserve coasts and the sea. Local actors will share their concrete solutions, problems and prospects.
