La Galette à l’escampette (The Vanishing Epiphany Cake), a tale from Geoffroy de Pennart, will lead us to the celebration of the famous Galette des rois (Epiphany or King cake in English) tradition. Every year on Epiphany Sunday, French families and friends gather around this cake, made with frangipane or brioche according to the regions, in order to find the hidden charm and become the King or the Queen. This tradition is celebrated in France from the 13th Century, and the charm, firstly a broad been or a seed, is made in porcelain from the 17th Century.


The Vanishing Epiphany Cake

It’s Grand Ma’s birthday and Sir Rabbit has decided to cook a beautiful Epiphany cake to celebrate it. However, with an original recipe, to bake such a cake is not so easy, is not it Sir Rabbit ? The Three Little Pigs, the Broutchou family, the Little Red Ridding Hood and many others won’t say the contrary.
